My research work is to determine the contact and bending fatigue failure of asymmetric helical gear drives through finite element analysis. Further, the fatigue life of the helical gear and pinion has been balanced by optimizing the novel rack cutters. By modifying the tooth profile of the helical gear will enhance the fatigue life and increases the load carrying capacity for the customized power transmission system. The future research plan will be extended to carry out experimental work based on asymmetric helical gear and novel rack cutter to estimate the fatigue life. Further, the influence of secondary operations, such as surface treatments on the novel helical gear drives, needs to be investigated.
Attending the STUTI program on “Advances in Gear Engineering” will support me to carry out my future research on gear drives.

I have worked as a Junior Research Fellow on the project titled “stress analysis of high contact ratio spur gear” sponsored by “Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE)”, DRDO, Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Now I am pursuing Ph.D. in the domain of gear design and failure analysis in SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.

My research work during my MTech program (completed from IIT Indore) was "Investigations on Near-Net Shape Manufacturing of Elliptical Helical Gears by Wire Spark Erosion Machining Process", in which I manufactured different types of non-circular gears also, and optimized the process parameters of WSEM process. Presently I am working on other non-circular gear manufacturing processes. My future plan is to work on the effective manufacturing of micro circular as well as micro non-circular gears. This program will be very helpful for me to gain knowledge in the field of Gears and to achieve my future goals.
|
1. 10 years of working experience in the Center of Excellence in Gear Engineering of IIT Indore. 2. MTech Thesis on "Investigations on Near-Net Shape Manufacturing of Elliptical Helical Gears by Wire Spark Erosion Machining Process". 3. Accepted chapter abstract for the book titled "Innovative Development in Micro-manufacturing Processes".
